Mississippi River Fun Facts
Great River RoadThe Great River Road was established in 1938 as the national parkway of the Mississippi River. Follow the green Pilot's Wheel road signs that mark its route nearly 3,000 miles through 10 states.
At 24 miles long, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in New Orleans, Louisiana is the world longest over water highway bridge.
Favorite Places Along the River
You've got to visit the Delta Blues Museum when you're in Clarksdale, Miss. The artifacts, history and of course, the music, are most entertaining. The local food is out of this world too.
